The Sino Msolo Update
// The "Mamela" album, the latest feature with Simmy, and Instagram live sessions //
Wassup fam. I hope that you are all well. I'm glad to finally be able to publish this article because it was long overdue (but better late than never right?). Well, the site is active again so expect quite a number of articles coming your way because we have a lot of catching up to do, but for now, let me update you on this talented musician who goes by the name of Sino Msolo. There was no better way for me to write this article than while listening to his debut album "Mamela" (again, because I bought it a while back) and this will be our point of departure for this article.
"Mamela" is an Afro House music album that features Sun-El Musician, Mthunzi, S-Tone and Claudio x Kenza. It was released on the 22nd of November 2019, so you must have been living under a rock/ already in isolation if you haven't listened to the album or any of the songs on it yet. For those who were familiar with his performances over the past few years, I'm sure they could all agree with me that, it was only a matter of time before a major brand like Sun-El Musician (EL World Music Label) discovered this brother. It's amazing to see the continued growth and popularity that he's receiving, and after Sino became the Apple Music New Artist Spotlight in January, more beautiful music and opportunities became inevitable. You can purchase "Mamela" on Google Play / Spotify among other digital music streaming platforms. This album is must-have, so do the right thing.
Alright, so now that you know about the album, let me tell you about some of my favorite songs on it. There are 16 tracks on the album, and my top 5 have to be, in no particular order: Kaso, Mamela featuring Mthunzi, Nguwe, Ndikhetha Lowa and Ngelinye Ilanga featuring Sun -El Musician. I would advise that you obviously listen to the whole album from the first to the last track, because I really like how everything flows. There's a smooth build up with the first 2 jams, then the next 6 jams definitely switch things up a bit, so don't be surprised if you find yourself dancing for a good 20 minutes or so. By the time you get to track number 13 "Nguwe", the vibe would've settled down, and you will probably be seated, nodding your head, tapping your feet and singing along to the beautiful chorus. Upon arriving at track 15, you can feel the conclusion of the album drawing near (even if you lose count of the number of tracks you've listened to so far, because I can guarantee you that you will definitely repeat some of these great jams before getting to the second last track).
Throughout the album, you will definitely be able to get a sense of how Sino draws inspiration from the likes of Simphiwe Dana, Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba, not explicitly though. His voice sounds impeccable, complemented by the musical melodies that will make you feel as if the songs were recorded specifically for your ears.
I really like the fact that he set the bar so high for himself with his first album, because this definitely leaves listeners (like myself) impatiently waiting to hear his next album/ single. Before we talk about his latest feature on a single though, I gotta share one of his music videos (The braza didn't waste time in getting visuals to some of his songs - he already got 3 videos fam). This video - like the other 2 - actually dropped before the album, so we already knew that by the time album dropped, it would be fire. You can watch the dope video to "Ndikhetha Lowa" below.
We're now gonna move on to his latest feature, and that was on Simmy's "Ngihamba Nawe" song which dropped last month. I'm sure most of you already know Simmy, and if not then you gotta check out "Umahlalela" and "Ngiyesaba" (which is still one of my faves) just to get you started. She's another amazing musician under the EL World Music label, and after listening to Sino's album, you'll definitely find similarities with "Ngihamba Nawe" and some of the jams on his album. You can click on the image below in order to listen to the song (and you can find the track on all digital music platforms as well). Don't forget to drop a comment and let us know what you think.
We've come to the last part of the article, and will conclude by informing you about the live sessions that Sino will be having on Instagram. He might be having his next live session on Wednesday on the 29th of April, but I would like to encourage you to follow him on social media so that you don't miss any of the live sessions during this lock down, announcements, as well as more of his music that he will be releasing this year: Like Sino Msolo on Facebook / Follow Sino Msolo on Instagram / Follow Sino Msolo on Twitter. That's about it for today fam. Thank you once again for reading this article, and don't forget to let me know which tracks you like the most on his album "Mamela". You can catch me on Instagram / Twitter @2tukani. Stay safe and Blessed.
